Texas A&M’s Department of Nuclear Engineering is the largest and fastest growing nuclear engineering program in the United States. The department is ranked second nationally (U.S. News and World Report) in undergraduate and third in graduate studies. The department offers degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels in nuclear engineering or radiological health engineering. Research facilities include two research reactors, seven accelerators (including a unique microbeam device for determining the response to ionizing radiation on a cell-by-cell basis) and a high-energy pulsed plasma laboratory.
