Malaysian delegation visited Comanche Peak
A Malaysian delegation visited Comanche Peak on Feb. 23 as part
of their trip to the USA to collect information for preparing a
workforce to operate a nuclear power plant. Rafael Flores, CPNPP
CNO, and Ken Peters, CPNPP VP, welcomed Tenaga Nasional Berhad
(National Energy Utility) members and professors from the
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (largest university in Malaysia).
The delegation toured a variety of classroom environments and the
simulator; as well as, the NOSF Annex laboratories. Michael Marler,
director of organizational effectiveness, delivered a presentation
on the development of professionals and skilled technicians to
support nuclear power plant operations.
The Malaysian delegation members were very gracious and
appreciative of the time, information and the hospitality extended
to them by Comanche Peak. They left armed with a wealth of
information to present to their country's leaders as they begin the
arduous mission of building the first nuclear power plant in
Malaysia.
